Irmo sits on the Richland and Lexington county line northwest of Columbia, wrapped around the eastern end of Lake Murray. Geaux 2 Guy covers the whole area, from the Friarsgate and Ballentine neighborhoods to the newer building out along Dutch Fork Road.
Much of residential Irmo went up between the late 1970s and the 1990s. That puts a lot of split-levels and ranches at the same age. The original kitchen, the original hall bath and the original back deck all start asking for attention in the same year. Lake Murray adds its own wrinkle.
